About JD & the Team
I’ve been photographing and filming weddings for over 12 years, with a style rooted in authentic documentary storytelling while also creating elegant, editorial-inspired photography and films when the moment calls for it. I was honored to be named Filmmaker of the Year in 2024 by filmmaker network, and I’m continuing to push myself creatively with the goal of earning recognition for my photography in the years ahead.
I’ve intentionally chosen to keep our team extremely small. Over the years, I’ve had my fair share of experience working with larger companies, and I’ve seen firsthand the disadvantages of a high-volume business model, especially when clients are assigned photographers or filmmakers who may be inconsistent, unreliable, or simply not the right fit.
I decided that I didn’t want to build my company that way. I would genuinely rather not book a client than take on more work than I can properly handle and risk compromising the experience or quality of what we deliver.
And honestly, not booking every available date is also good for me personally. Having time away from work allows me to enjoy my life, decompress, recharge creatively, and come back with fresh energy for the next client. I believe that balance ultimately makes me a better photographer, filmmaker, and storyteller. When I show up for a wedding, I want to be fully present and excited to create, not exhausted because I’ve been trying to fill every date on my calendar.
That’s also why I only work with a select group of photographers and filmmakers whom I’ve personally worked alongside and trust for their talent, professionalism, and reliability. I’m not interested in becoming a huge company that tries to book every client possible. Staying small allows me to remain personally involved in every project and maintain the quality, consistency, and level of care I want every client to receive.
Because we intentionally limit the number of events we take on, availability is limited and bookings are handled on a first-come, first-served basis. We also believe strongly in transparent and fair pricing. Our pricing and discount opportunities are consistent for everyone, no hidden rates and no changing prices based on who the client is.
